"My last cry before I die." I was just sitting and doodling, I'm deciding to become active again and work on my dream to draw humans, actual detailed humans, this is my first handwork so please do not be to harsh on me. This will sound very macabre, but then so is the image. It seems to me that the hand should appear more limp. I actually thought it was a picture of someone holding a hand out in front of them saying "stop!" Trying relaxing the fingers. Also the base of the hand should not have such a bold line--it makes it appear that the hand is separate from the arm.
Another thing to consider: this kind of image has been replicated so many times all over the internet that it no longer shocks its viewers. If you want to evoke a sense of the grotesque and disturbing, then think outside the box!
There's nothing wrong with "depressing" art.
